Hochkönig strings together the villages of Maria Alm, Dienten and Mühlbach beneath the mountain it is named after, as part of the wider Ski amadé network. The linked circuit across the ridge makes for a long day of point-to-point skiing rather than lapping the same slope.

About 40 km east, roughly 37 minutes, via Zell am See and Saalfelden to Maria Alm. Dienten and Mühlbach sit further along the same road.
