Overview

This website is an information site for Chalet Wim & Tine in Piesendorf, Austria, and for the valley around it. It is written and maintained privately by the chalet owners, in their own time, as a courtesy to guests and to anyone curious about the area.

By using the site you accept the terms below. They are short, and the gist of all of them is this: everything here is offered in good faith and to the best of our knowledge, but it is information, not advice, and not a promise. What you do with it is your own responsibility.

This Is Not Where You Book

The chalet cannot be booked on this site. Every booking button hands you over to our listing on Villa for You, which is a separate company. Your rental contract is formed there, with them, under their terms and conditions, and their terms govern the booking, the payment, the deposit and the cancellation rules.

Nothing on this website forms part of that contract. The descriptions, photographs, floor details, availability and area information here are provided to help you decide — the listing on the booking platform is the authoritative description of what you are renting. Where the two disagree, the listing wins.

Who To Contact About What

This is worth being direct about, because it saves everyone time.

If you have booked or are staying at the chalet and something needs sorting out — anything to do with the booking, payment, the keys, arrival and departure, cleaning, heating, a breakdown, a complaint about the property, or anything at all that happens during your stay — the right people are Villa for You for booking matters, and the chalet’s caretaker (Hausmeister) for anything on site. They are the ones equipped to actually fix it, and they can do so quickly. There is no contact form on this site, and that is deliberate.

For the website itself — a broken page, an error in the information, a photo or text used without permission, or a data protection request — write to [email protected]. That address is for website matters only. It is not a booking line, a guest support desk or an out-of-hours number, and messages about a stay sent there will only be pointed back to the people above, slowly, because it is not monitored as a support channel.

Routes, Tours And Activity Information

The site describes walks, hikes, climbs, bike and ski routes, viewpoints and outings in the area. These are put together to the best of our abilities from our own experience of the valley and from public sources. They are suggestions, not official routes.

Specifically, and please take this seriously:

  • They are not official, waymarked or approved routes unless the text explicitly says so and names the body that marks them.
  • They have not been surveyed, checked or endorsed by any tourist board, mountain rescue service, alpine club or local authority.
  • Distances, ascent figures, timings and difficulty grades are estimates. Grading is subjective, and a route that is easy in July can be lethal in October.
  • Conditions change constantly — weather, snow, avalanche risk, rockfall, closures, forestry work, private land, seasonal restrictions and grazing livestock all alter what is safe or even possible.
  • A route being described here does not mean it is passable, permitted, open, or suitable for you on the day you read it.

Going Into The Mountains Is At Your Own Risk

Hiking, climbing, cycling, skiing, ski touring and every other mountain activity carry a real risk of serious injury or death, and that risk sits with you. You are responsible for judging your own fitness and experience, for your equipment, for your companions, for turning back, and for deciding whether to go at all.

Before you set out, check the current official sources: the local avalanche bulletin, the weather forecast, lift and trail status from the operators, and the signage on the ground. Official signs, barriers and closures always override anything written here. Make sure you carry adequate insurance, including mountain rescue cover.

We accept no responsibility for any accident, injury, loss, delay or cost arising from anyone following, adapting or being inspired by a route or activity described on this site.

Information From Other Sources

Several parts of the site are assembled automatically from outside sources and refreshed on a schedule. Ski area statistics, piste maps, restaurant details and opening hours, and the bookable activity listings all come from third parties. We do not verify them by hand, and they can be out of date, incomplete or simply wrong.

Treat all of it as a starting point. Before you rely on any of it — turning up at a restaurant, buying a lift pass, planning around an opening time — check with the business or operator directly.

The activity listings are supplied by GetYourGuide. Following one takes you to GetYourGuide’s own website, where any booking you make is a contract between you and them, under their terms and their privacy and cookie policies. We are not a party to it and cannot help with those bookings.

Accuracy, And No Warranty

We try to keep this site correct and current, but we make no warranty that it is. Content may be incomplete, outdated or mistaken, and it can change or disappear without notice. Prices, times, distances and descriptions are illustrative.

The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it will be available, uninterrupted or error-free. If you spot something wrong, tell us and we will fix it — that is genuinely useful and always welcome.

Limitation Of Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury, cost or disappointment arising from your use of this website or from reliance on anything published on it — including route and activity information, third-party data, availability, links to other sites, and any interruption or error in the site itself.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.

Links To Other Websites

The site links to booking platforms, activity providers, lift companies, restaurants, map services and tourist information. We have no control over any of them and are not responsible for their content, their availability, their terms or how they handle your data. A link is not an endorsement, and once you follow one you are on their site under their rules.

Content And Copyright

The text, photographs and layout of this site belong to us or are used with permission. You are welcome to read it, print it for your own trip, and link to it. You may not republish it, sell it, or reuse it commercially without asking first.

Third-party names, logos, map data and photographs remain the property of their owners and are used here for identification and information only.

Acceptable Use

Use the site normally and in good faith. Do not attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to it, do not scrape it wholesale or automatically, and do not use it for anything unlawful.

Changes And Applicable Law

We may update these terms as the site changes. The current version is always the one on this page, with the date below, and it is the version that applies to your use of the site today.

These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by Belgian law. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the mandatory protections of the law of your own country, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
